Warranty
Warranty (Vendor Warranty; CPS Optional Extended Support)
Welcome to the St. Peter Computers Warranty & Support page. Here we explain your rights under the original manufacturer (“vendor”) warranty, as well as how you can purchase optional extended support (CPS) for additional protection.
Vendor (Manufacturer) Warranty
1 . What Is Covered
When you purchase a product from St. Peter Computers, it carries the original manufacturer’s warranty (unless otherwise stated). This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, subject to terms set by the manufacturer.
2. Warranty Duration
The duration and terms depend on the manufacturer and product category (e.g., desktops, laptops, components).
In some cases, manufacturers may offer 1 year, 2 years, or more of coverage.
Replacement or refurbished parts installed under warranty will usually inherit the remaining warranty period.
3. Manufacturer’s Remedies
If a defect arises within the warranty period, the manufacturer (or an authorized service center) may, at its discretion:
Repair the defective part or product
Replace the product or faulty component
Provide equivalent functionality replacements
4. What Is Not Covered
The vendor warranty generally does not cover:
Damage from misuse, neglect, accident, liquid exposure, or improper handling
Cosmetic damage (scratches, dents)
Unauthorized modifications, repairs, alteration, or opening of enclosures
Environmental damage (e.g. power surges, humidity, extreme temperature)
Loss, theft, or consumables (e.g. batteries, cables)
Software issues, viruses, data loss
5. How to Make a Warranty Claim
Contact us or the manufacturer as soon as you detect a defect.
Provide your proof of purchase, model number, serial number, and a description of the issue.
You may be required to return the product or bring it to an authorized service center.
All shipping and handling costs may be covered by the manufacturer or may be your responsibility, depending on their policy.
Replacement or repaired items will carry the remaining warranty term, unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise.
CPS Optional Extended Support
To offer you greater peace of mind, we provide an optional CPS (Computer Plus Solutions) Extended Support Plan. This is in addition to, not instead of, the manufacturer’s warranty.
1. What CPS Extended Support Covers
Depending on the plan you choose, CPS support may include:
- Extended hardware repair coverage beyond the vendor warranty
- On-site repair or carry-in service
- Priority service or escalation
- Parts and labor (subject to plan terms)
- Diagnostic support
2. Term & Activation
CPS support must be purchased at the time of your product purchase or within a limited activation window (typically within 30 days).
The extended coverage period begins immediately after the vendor warranty ends (or sometimes from the date of purchase, depending on plan).
The length of coverage (e.g. 1 year, 2 years) depends on the specific CPS plan selected.
3. Limitations & Exclusions
CPS Extended Support generally does not cover:
Damage due to misuse, accidents, natural disasters
Unauthorized repairs, modifications, or tampering
Consumables (batteries, cables, etc.)
Cosmetic damage
Issues outside of CPS plan scope (software, data recovery, acts of nature)
Additionally, CPS support may require that you maintain the product per vendor guidelines (proper care, environment, common maintenance). Failure to do so could void the CPS coverage.
4. How to Use CPS Support
If an issue arises under CPS coverage, contact St. Peter Computers (details below) and cite your CPS plan number and original purchase information.
Follow instructions to bring the device in or have us dispatch a service technician (if included in your plan).
We will assess and repair or replace covered components under the CPS plan.
General Terms & Legal Notes
- This warranty and support policy is between you (the purchaser) and St. Peter Computers / the manufacturer / CPS, as applicable.
- Where state or federal law mandates certain warranty rights, those rights take precedence over these terms.
- St. Peter Computers does not “extend” or alter the vendor warranty itself but offers supplemental coverage via CPS.
- CPS support plans are optional and separate from product cost; you may decline CPS and rely solely on the vendor warranty.
- If your product has multiple components with different warranties (e.g. CPU, storage, power supply), each part is covered per its own warranty or plan.
- In case of conflict between this policy and your vendor’s warranty documentation, the vendor’s written warranty prevails.
